Baseball Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Takes a Loss

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability and Northern Durham faced off in a cross-town battle on Wednesday. The Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans lost 13-2 to the Northern Durham Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Hargrove, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Hargrove has posted since back in April of 2024.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Northern Durham, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will challenge Louisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Northern Durham, they will host East Chapel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
