Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Takes a Loss

Mid-Carolina was the 38-36 winner over Eau Claire when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Mid-Carolina Rebels received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 61-42 to the Eau Claire Shamrocks. The Rebels just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Mid-Carolina still got an impressive performance from Jay Gallman, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jamarian Dewalt, who posted five points and nine rebounds.

Eau Claire's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Manny Davis, who scored 19 points and three steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Garner, who had 14 points and five boards.

Mid-Carolina's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Eau Claire, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Mid-Carolina has already played their next match, a 44-41 loss against Fairfield Central on the 6th. As for Eau Claire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-44 defeat against Clinton on the 6th.
