Volleyball Recap: Wheaton North Comes Up Short

Wheaton North lost against Timothy Christian back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Wheaton North sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 22-28, 26-24.

Emily Rochford paced Wheaton North's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rochford got some help from Sophia Ohashi and her 21 assists. Mary Kate Whittington and Hannah Van Denend kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Timothy Christian found their leader in sophomore Alexis Brandsma, who had nine digs and one assist.

Wheaton North has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season. As for Timothy Christian, they pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Wheaton North has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Geneva on the 14th. As for Timothy Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against IC Catholic Prep on the 11th.
