Volleyball Recap: Westby Norsemen vs. Mauston Golden Eagles
Westby was the 2-0 winner over Mauston when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Norsemen took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles on Saturday.
Ava Berg paced Westby's offense, picking up eight kills. Berg were helped by Raegan Stenslien and Taylor Davidson, who contributed seven assists each. Finally, Kelsey Nedland kept Westby's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Westby's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Mauston, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
Westby has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Luther on the 14th. As for Mauston, they will face off against Nekoosa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Papermakers at the right time seeing as the Papermakers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
