Softball Game Preview: North Bend Bulldogs vs. Marist Spartans

For the second straight game, North Bend will face off against Marist. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. North Bend has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Bend lost 17-5 to Marist on Tuesday.

For Marist's part, they let Lera Basom and Bridget Stephenson run wild. Basom went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Stephenson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Stephenson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Finley Schweigert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marist kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

North Bend's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Marist, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
