Volleyball Recap: Carly Fortney and Lucy King Secure Win for Old Fort

There's no place like home for Old Fort, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the New Riegel Blue Jackets by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Stockaders in their matchups with the Blue Jackets: they've now won eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 24-26, 25-23, 25-15.

Leading Old Fort to victory were Lucy King and Carly Fortney. King had 39 assists and 24 digs, while Fortney had 24 digs. Those 24 digs gave Fortney a new career-high.

The win got Old Fort back to even at 1-1. As for New Riegel, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Old Fort didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on the 21st. As for New Riegel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lakota on the 21st.
