Basketball Game Preview: Bryant Hornets vs. Maize South Mavericks

The Bryant Hornets will be taking part in a tournament against the Maize South Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bryant will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Bryant took their game with ease, bagging a 68-30 victory over Northside. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Bryant relied on the efforts of Camarion Bead, who went 9-for-16 en route to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Rj Young, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 19 points along with eight boards and five assists. Young is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was DaeJuan Ellis, who posted four points.

Meanwhile, Maize South had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Eisenhower, posting a 72-45 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Bryant's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Maize South, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
