Lexi Sandoval put in work no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Sandoval was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Sandoval wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kara Jensen, who went 3-for-3 with a double.
Even though they lost, Harlingen South was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. This was only their first loss (out of 12 games) when they post three or more doubles.
Harlingen South's defeat dropped their record down to 31-4. As for Leander, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 35-5.
