Preview: Hackett Hornets vs. Mansfield Tigers
The Hackett Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mansfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hackett fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They really took it to Greenland for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-8 victory on the road. With Hackett ahead 24-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hackett's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cole Ketchum, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and Jeremy Lawyer, who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Ketchum was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Hester, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mansfield took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Cedarville.
Their wins bumped Hackett to 6-3 and Mansfield to 7-2.
Hackett came up short against Mansfield when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 16-6. Will Hackett have more luck at home instead of on the road?
