Flag Football Game Preview: Rio Americano Raiders vs. Vista del Lago Eagles

Rio Americano hasn't had much luck against Vista del Lago recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders will square off against the Eagles at 5:15 p.m.

On Monday, Rio Americano came up short against Christian Brothers and fell 28-18. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Falcons are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Vista del Lago, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Bella Vista 46-8 on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 27 points or more this season.

Vista del Lago is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.1 points on average over those games. As for Rio Americano, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Things could have been worse for Rio Americano, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 27-12 loss to Vista del Lago in their previous meeting on September 8th. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
