While Southwestern's victory against Oldenburg Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over the Twisters on Thursday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Twisters recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Jenna Owens, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Haiden Bailey, who earned two RBI and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southwestern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Southwestern's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Oldenburg Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Southwestern will challenge Austin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Oldenburg Academy, they will face off against Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
