The Ephrata Mountaineers will take on the Cedar Crest Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Ephrata is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Ephrata made easy work of Lebanon and carried off a 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountaineers.

Kaliana Auchey and Emma Zimmerman did most of the damage at the plate: Auchey scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Zimmerman scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, Auchey posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Jordin Rojas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Ephrata was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Cedar Crest fell victim to Penn Manor and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 15-0. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Ephrata pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Ephrata took their victory against Cedar Crest in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0 score. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
