Volleyball Recap: West Middlesex Comes Up Short

After flying high against Commodore Perry on Tuesday, West Middlesex came back down to earth. The Big Reds fell just short of the Reynolds Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Big Reds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, West Middlesex sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 24-26, 15-8.

West Middlesex's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7. As for Reynolds, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, West Middlesex will challenge Lakeview at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Reynolds, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rocky Grove at 7:15 p.m. on the 29th.
