Basketball Recap: Sherman Takes a Loss

Sherman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denison Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 168th).

Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Denison, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Sherman will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m. As for Denison, they will head out to challenge Anna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Denison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Anna likes a good challenge.
