Basketball Recap: Elkhart Comes Up Short

Elkhart managed to keep up with Mexia until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Elkhart Elks had to suffer through a 64-35 loss at the hands of the Mexia Black Cats. The Elks have struggled against the Black Cats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Mexia, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-10.

Elkhart will head out on the road to take on Westwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mexia, they will face off against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fairfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.
