Basketball Recap: Pocahontas County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Richwood last Saturday, Pocahontas County came back down to earth. The Pocahontas County Warriors fell to the Webster County Highlanders 52-48. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost three in a row.

Pocahontas County's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Webster County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-13.

Coming up, Pocahontas County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Webster County, they will face off against River View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Webster County will be up against River View's rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.39 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
