Basketball Game Preview: Millington Central Trojans vs. Brighton Cardinals

Millington Central and Brighton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Millington Central Trojans will host the Brighton Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Millington Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.

On Friday, Millington Central took their game with ease, bagging a 60-29 win over Craigmont. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Chiefs are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millington Central can attribute much of their success to Aiden Maclin, who posted 20 points, and Andre Tyler, who scored 19 points. That's the most points Maclin has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Brighton waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Pharaohs by a score of 63-51.

Brighton has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Millington Central, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8.
