Basketball Recap: Hughesville Takes a Loss

Hughesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Warrior Run Defenders and fell 82-35. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Defenders are ranked 59th).

Hughesville's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Warrior Run, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughesville will square off against Mifflinburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mifflinburg will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hughesville surely won't give up without a fight. Warrior Run has already played their next matchup (against Southern Columbia Area), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
