Baseball Recap: Carson Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Carson waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mount Pleasant Tigers, sneaking past 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2020.

The team relied heavily on Jayven Parks, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Williamson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Carson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.

Carson pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Carson and Mount Pleasant will both be playing Northwest Cabarrus the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
