The Valley View Cougars will take on the Crestwood Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Crestwood will be up against a hot Valley View team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand Scranton a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Grace Munley looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Valley View got a massive performance out of Cora Castellani, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Castellani has posted since back in April of 2025. Zoie Krupovich was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Valley View hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Crestwood hadn't done well against Berwick recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Monday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bulldogs.
Brooke Lenahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Celia Stahlnecker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kayla Sinavage, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Valley View's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Crestwood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Crestwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Valley View has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Crestwood, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Valley View's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
