Baseball Game Preview: Piner Prospectors vs. Santa Rosa Panthers

Piner hasn't had much luck against Santa Rosa recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Prospectors will head out to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Piner is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Healdsburg on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa challenged Analy on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 14-13. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Santa Rosa's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Piner, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-7.

Piner came up short against Santa Rosa in their previous meeting back in March, falling 4-1. Can the Prospectors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
