Baseball Game Preview: South Point Pointers vs. Chesapeake Panthers

South Point is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Chesapeake a nine-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The South Point Pointers will be playing at home against the Chesapeake Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for South Point's offense. They fell 3-0 to Wheelersburg last Monday.

Meanwhile, Chesapeake also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Rock Hill on Monday, falling 14-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Chesapeake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Perkins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Chesapeake's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for South Point, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

South Point took their victory against Chesapeake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
