Recap: The Christian Academy vs. Jenkintown Drakes
The Christian Academy lost against the Jenkintown Drakes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Christian Academy took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jenkintown. The Christian Academy has not had much luck with Jenkintown recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Jenkintown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kareem Jackson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Tommy Walsh was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Jenkintown, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
The Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 417th, while The Christian Academy is ranked 430th). As for Jenkintown, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mastery Charter Hardy Williams at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. Mastery Charter Hardy Williams is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
