Softball Recap: Bellaire Comes Up Short

Bellaire lost to Martins Ferry last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Big Reds came up short against the Purple Riders, falling 12-1. The Big Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellaire saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kovach, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Kovach's first of the season.

Bellaire's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Martins Ferry, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Bellaire will head out on the road to square off against St. Clairsville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Martins Ferry, they will welcome Monroe Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Purple Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seminoles have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season.
