Baseball Recap: Knightstown's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Knightstown hadn't done well against New Castle recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 9-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Knightstown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Kelton Weaver, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown will host Purdue Polytechnic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Castle, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Shenandoah at 5:00 p.m. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 15.3 runs per game this season.
