Volleyball Recap: Chardon Takes a Loss

Chardon managed to slip by Mentor the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hilltoppers came up short against the Cardinals on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Chardon may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored zero points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Chazz Weigel was the offensive standout of the match as he had ten digs and two aces. Alex Nicoletti also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Chardon's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mentor, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Chardon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against North on the 28th. As for Mentor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Kenston on the 28th.
