Basketball Recap: Challenger Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Challenger had won two straight home games and Braelon Roe did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Challenger Firebirds strolled past the Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders with points to spare, taking the game 59-42 thanks in part to Roe, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Kendall Reinhardt, who posted eight points along with 13 boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The victory got Challenger back to even at 5-5. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Challenger will be playing at home against Christian Family Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Challenger is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
