Basketball Recap: Rochester School for the Deaf Piles Up the Points Against Rhode Island School for the Deaf

Rochester School for the Deaf entered their tilt with Rhode Island School for the Deaf on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Rhode Island School for the Deaf 53-24. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

Rochester School for the Deaf got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evangeline Fisher-Palmer out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. The game was Fisher-Palmer's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Stuhlberg, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards.

Rochester School for the Deaf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Rhode Island School for the Deaf still got an impressive performance from Jaiden Francis, who posted 24 points along with seven boards and three steals. Francis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Rochester School for the Deaf's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Rhode Island School for the Deaf, Non Varsity Opponent, and Non Varsity Opponent. As for Rhode Island School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Rochester School for the Deaf will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rhode Island School for the Deaf, they will take on Lexington School for the Deaf at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
