Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors will face off against the Sonoraville Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe ended up a good deal behind Union County and lost 60-44. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Panthers are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Sonoraville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Murray County. The matchup marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Sonoraville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Everything went Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's way against Sonoraville when the teams last played back in February of 2022, as Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe made off with a 62-41 victory.
