Basketball Recap: Landri Hardman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oak Hill over Lewis Cass

Oak Hill and Lewis Cass squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Oak Hill had to settle for second. They took a 40-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis Cass Kings. The game marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Oak Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Landri Hardman, who posted nine points. Erika Newhouse also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Oak Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Among those leading the charge was Aftin Griffin, who earned 16 points. Another player making a difference was Laney Davis, who had eight points.

Oak Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Lewis Cass, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Oak Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lewis Cass, they will take on Sheridan at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sheridan sitting on 22 straight victories and Lewis Cass on six.
