Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Glenwood Titans

MacArthur is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Glenwood is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The MacArthur Generals will host the Glenwood Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MacArthur knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Glenwood likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, MacArthur beat Decatur Eisenhower 57-52.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Glenwood's strategy against Jacksonville on Tuesday. Glenwood enjoyed a cozy 55-38 victory over Jacksonville. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Crimsons are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

MacArthur has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Glenwood, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

MacArthur barely slipped by Glenwood in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 47-46. Does MacArthur have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glenwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
