Denair never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Delhi Hawks 41-0. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Hawks are ranked 911th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Bryson Salazar and Degan Butler. Salazar gained 158 total yards and three touchdowns while Butler rushed for 146 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Salazar has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Noah Chavez was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and one score on only eight carries.

Denair was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Denair's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Delhi, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denair will take on Waterford at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Coyotes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Delhi, they will square off against Gustine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Reds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
