Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Cavaliers vs. Norcom Greyhounds

The Lakeland Cavaliers will challenge the Norcom Greyhounds at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland will be strutting in after a win while Norcom will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Lakeland turned things around against Oscar Smith on Tuesday. They blew past the Tigers 25-5. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cavaliers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 23 runs the game before, Norcom was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Churchland, falling 16-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Greyhounds have suffered since April 4th.

Lakeland's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Norcom, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Everything went Lakeland's way against Norcom in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Lakeland made off with a 23-8 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
