Softball Recap: Central Crossing Takes a Loss

Central Crossing lost to Lincoln last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Comets fell 12-8 to the Lions.

Hayliee Roberts put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played.

Roberts wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Unrue, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jazmyn Rushin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Central Crossing's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lincoln, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Central Crossing has already played their next matchup, a 13-4 defeat against Hilliard Bradley on the 18th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 win against New Albany on the 20th.
