Baseball Recap: Aloha Comes Up Short

Aloha and Beaverton pushed the score to 16-6 the last time they played Beaverton, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Warriors fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 3-1. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Hayden Grot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aloha saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sunny Corpus, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Aloha's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Beaverton, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Aloha will square off against West Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaverton, they will venture away from home to square off against Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
