Softball Recap: Natalia Wins Going Away Against Tivy

Natalia lost to Tivy last Thursday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Natalia Mustangs put the hurt on the Tivy Antlers with a sharp 13-6 win. Considering the Mustangs have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Leyla Saenz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Selyene Gallegos, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Natalia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive games.

Natalia's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Tivy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Natalia will welcome IDEA South Flores at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Tivy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Uvalde at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
