Baseball Recap: Mission Bay Has No Trouble Against San Diego

Mission Bay won the last time they faced San Diego and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Buccaneers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Cavers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Mission Bay got a great performance from Blake Barnes as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, Barnes posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Vince Kasunich was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Kaden Jones was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Mission Bay's record now sits at 16-4. As for San Diego, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12-1.

Mission Bay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
