Basketball Recap: University's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

If University was feeling good fresh off their 97-66 takedown of Cypress Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars took a 78-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eustis Panthers on Friday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2016.

Despite the loss, University still got an impressive performance from Kyle Bailey, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds. Bailey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antravius Neal, who scored eight points.

Eustis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Glover, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 20 points and five boards. Glover is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games he's played. Jaiden Palma was another key player, shooting 54% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, University fell to 2-1. As for Eustis, their record is now 4-1.

Looking ahead, University will face off against Central Florida Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 58.6 points per game this season. As for Eustis, they will challenge Davenport at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
