Baseball Game Preview: Woodbridge Warriors vs. Thousand Oaks Lancers

The Woodbridge Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Thousand Oaks Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Woodbridge sitting on four straight wins and Thousand Oaks on five.

Woodbridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Irvine.

Kyle Underwood looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodbridge's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Camacho, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thousand Oaks got the win against Claremont on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-3.

Jameson Berigan tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Matthew Magruder was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. James Luderer was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Thousand Oaks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Woodbridge's record is now 21-9. As for Thousand Oaks, their record now sits at 17-12.
