Baseball Recap: Birch Run Takes a Loss

Birch Run lost to Montrose on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers lost 15-3 to the Rams. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eli Magyar made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Birch Run's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Montrose, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Birch Run will face off against Lakeville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montrose, they will take on Mt. Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.22 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
