Baseball Recap: Skyline Victorious

Skyline took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Bonneville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Grizzlies skirted past the Bees 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Bees on Thursday, they had to take a 14-5 defeat.

Cooper Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Schwedes, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI Schwedes has posted over his last 11 contests. Another was Taylor Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Bonneville, with the loss, they broke their 15-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-3.

Skyline will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bees: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
