Lampasas had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.4 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Fredericksburg Billies 2-1. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Billies are ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chris Mendoza and Bryce Castaneda scored both of Lampasas' goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Lampasas pushed their record up to 10-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matchups. As for Fredericksburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lampasas and Fredericksburg will both be playing Brownwood the next time they take the pitch. Fredericksburg will host Brownwood at 7:20 p.m. on Friday, while Lampasas will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th.
