Volleyball Recap: St. John's/Tipton Catholic Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. John's/Tipton Catholic can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Centralia Panthers on Saturday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Centralia scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic's offense was headlined by Lynelle Gengler and Kendra Gengler, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Breckyn Carr and her ten assists. Finally, Kendra was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 28-11. As for Centralia, they pushed their record up to 31-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centralia, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Wabaunsee on the 25th.
