Basketball Recap: Karns City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Allegheny-Clarion Valley last Wednesday, Karns City came back down to earth. The Karns City Gremlins took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarion-Limestone Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gremlins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-53 back in January.

It was another big night for Jase Ferguson, who went 7 of 15 to rack up 19 points along with eight assists and seven boards for Clarion-Limestone. Ferguson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Clarion-Limestone is undefeated when he posts at least five steals, but 5-6 otherwise. Jesse Siwiecki was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Karns City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Clarion-Limestone, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Karns City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-69 victory against Clarion Area on the 3rd. As for Clarion-Limestone, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-42 win against North Clarion on the 3rd.
