Central Woodstock and Luray are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Central Woodstock Falcons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Luray Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Woodstock will be strutting in after a victory while Luray will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Central Woodstock didn't have too much trouble with Madison County as they won 52-35. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-24, which was the final score in Luray's tilt against Clarke County on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Central Woodstock has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Luray, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Central Woodstock against Luray in their previous matchup on Tuesday, as the squad secured a 53-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Woodstock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
