Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Campolindo Cougars

The St. Mary's Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Campolindo Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Mary's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.

Last Wednesday, St. Mary's strolled past Tracy with points to spare, taking the game 71-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

St. Mary's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Camello, who went 6 of 7 en route to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Camello a new career-high in rebounds (four). Another player making a difference was Jayden Hinkston, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Campolindo duked it out withBenicia on Thursday. Campolindo took a hard 57-43 fall against Benicia. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Panthers are ranked 340th).

Campolindo's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for St. Mary's, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

St. Mary's came up short against Campolindo in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 62-58. Can St. Mary's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
