Basketball Recap: Peaster Greyhounds vs. Eastern Hills Highlanders
Peaster's tournament run continued when they took on Eastern Hills on Saturday. The Peaster Greyhounds took a 64-48 bruising from the Eastern Hills Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Highlanders are ranked 220th).
Messiah Miller was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 18 on his way to 26 points and five steals for Eastern Hills. Miller's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Devon Norice was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and five assists.
Peaster's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Eastern Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peaster will welcome Tolar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tolar will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Peaster surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastern Hills, they will host Carter-Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eastern Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
