Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Thomas Jefferson Spartans

Kennedy hasn't had much luck against Thomas Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Commanders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Kennedy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-50 win over Denver Academy of Torah.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson didn't have too much trouble with Sierra on Tuesday as they won 56-41. The Spartans pushed the score to 50-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Stallions cut but never quite recovered from.

Thomas Jefferson's win came from a few key players Kennedy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zack Van Abbema, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 rebounds. Mosely Rowekamp was another key player, putting up ten points.

Thomas Jefferson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kennedy, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Things could have been worse for Kennedy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-51 loss to Thomas Jefferson when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Commanders, Shane Curry (who dropped a double-double with 36 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
