Baseball Recap: West Cabarrus' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Cabarrus ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mount Pleasant Tigers, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won four matches in a row.

Turner Boone looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josh Marlow was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of West Cabarrus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cage Love, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.

West Cabarrus' win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Mount Pleasant, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Cabarrus will square off against Central Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Pleasant, they will face off against Christ the King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
