Baseball Recap: Westhampton Beach Takes a Loss

Westhampton Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hauppauge Eagles, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jacob Permakoff was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. Cooper Daniels was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Westhampton Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Hauppauge, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

While Westhampton Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
